Mia Zhao
I am a UI/UX designer with a background in illustration, communication design, and various bits of university level STEM from the time I took a large amount of biology coursework, which occasionally comes in handy. I have working experience in both digital and print graphic design and originally planned to work in illustration, but discovered UI/UX during the pandemic and greatly enjoyed the way it integrates creativity with problem-solving, especially in UX. I love tackling design problems in a way that still allows me to express my creativity and iterate countless ideas before landing on the solution.
At my current position, I am a visual designer at Wunderkind providing white-glove design services to clients by handling design requests for onsite and email, interfacing with clients through support calls, and collaborating with other internal teams to provide the highest level of satisfaction in live creative experiences. Aside from the work shown in my portfolio, here are some clients I have worked with in my role:
Outside of my professional work, I enjoy drawing (or hyping myself up to draw, and then not drawing), playing video games, figure skating, collecting fountain pens, and burying my face in my dogs’ fur.
I’d love to connect with you here or on LinkedIn!
